Xtc-Seroquel-Clonazepam
I have bipolar 2. For this, I take 1800mg Depakote per day and 300mg Wellbutrin (a non-SSRI anti-depressant). Wednesday night, I accidentally took MDMA (something that my body started rejecting even before I was diagnosed, which is why I would never, ever take MDMA willingly). Moreover, because we didn't realise it was MDMA, I took a much larger dose than is safe (approx. 250mg). As a result, I was throwing up all night; I was hallucinating very, very heavily for hours; my short term memory was completely gone - I couldn't even finish a sentence; I couldn't regulate my body temperature - my friend was laying in bed with a blanket and sweater, while I stripped down to my bra and still couldn't cool down enough. On top of this, I was also incredibly restless, couldn't lay still at all. I realised, even in that state, that I was becoming manic, and as soon as I was able to get home, I took 25mg seroquel (an anti-psychotic I've taken before for SSRI-induced mania). After I woke up in 3 hours, I took 0,5mg clonazepam (which my doctor prescribes for insomnia and anxiety) and was able to sleep a few hours more. 2 days later, my brain still feels fried, although my short-term memory is getting better. I've been sleeping a lot and I took more seroquel last night and clonazepam this morning to help with the anxiety I already knew I would be experiencing. My concern is the downer that I know will come tomorrow. Even before I was diagnosed with bipolar, I was incredibly sensitive to MDMA and had very difficult come-downs. I'm scared about how I'll feel tomorrow, and if there's anything I can take that I already have prescribed that could help. Any advice would be much appreciated!
Dear questioner,
It is very probable you've suffered from seronin syndrome after the high dose om MDMA. You seem to have treated yourself but a hospital visit would have been appropriate.
Luckily you've survived well but you fear the coming down
I'd suggest you only catch it up with some careful extra doses of clonazepam. This will prevent a too big coming down. After a week you will go back to your normal doses. Or you'd better stop for a couple of days preventing tolerance.
Stabilize the other medications unless you feel too stimulated. In that case you lower the Wellbutrin a fraction.
Good luck
